Passengers travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC)

Passengers who need to use a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) on board shall inform Air Arabia Customer Care Centre / Call Centre a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the departure time of the intended flight.

Air Arabia may require further information about the passenger’s medical condition, which will be communicated through the Customer Care Centre / Call Centre. 

The passenger must provide:

A licensed physician’s statement confirming the medical need for POC use onboard.

Physician statement must confirm:

  • Passenger’s cognitive ability to understand device warnings
  • Whether POC use is required for all or part of the flight
  • Maximum oxygen flow rate
  • Expected duration of use (hours and minutes)

The POC must comply with FAA acceptance criteria and carry a label or statement confirming FAA guidelines.

If travelling with your own POC, the device must meet the following:

  • Battery operated only (no onboard power supply available)
  • Passenger must carry sufficient spare batteries to cover the full duration of use
  • Spare batteries must be protected from short-circuiting
  • Passenger must not be seated in an exit row or first row

 

Air Arabia Medical Centre (AAMC) is the primary authority for medical clearance and Fit-to-Fly approval for medical cases. Passengers requiring medical approval / POC to be used onboard must be assessed by AAMC.

The MEDIF form must be completed by the treating physician and sent to: medreport@airarabia.com.

Passenger must notify the Call Centre at least 48 hours in advance of travel. Once authorized, the booking can be confirmed.

On the date of travel, the passenger must report to the airport for check-in with:

  1. Medical Form (MEDIF) completed by their doctor
  2. Authorization letter from AAMC
