Since 1932, Sharjah International Airport has been the gateway of travel through the UAE, servicing traffic from regional and international destinations. Today, the airport has grown to accommodate an increasing number of international carriers as well as regional airlines. In 2003, it became the official hub of Air Arabia, the Middle East’s first low-cost carrier, which helped fuel the airport’s traffic as it ventured into new and untapped territories within a five -hour flying radius.
