Air Arabia extends availability of mobile application to Android

27 May 2014

Air Arabia has extended its mobile reach with the launch of its smartphone application on Android. The Air Arabia app, which has been available on Apple iOS since last year, will now also be available to download on all android smartphones through Google Play.

The free to download mobile application allows passengers to purchase tickets, review and amend bookings, as well as select seats using their smartphone. The app also provides customers with connectivity to the airline’s website and call centres, as well as offering an abundance of travel information.

“Air Arabia has always used cutting edge technology to provide customers with a hassle-free booking and travel experience, and with the extension of our application’s availability on Android, as well as iPhone, we are opening our mobile offering to an even wider customer base,” said Adel Ali, Chief Executive Officer, Air Arabia Group.

The launch of Air Arabia’s smartphone app on Android falls in line with the airline’s commitment to put digital communications channels at the heart of its business model, with new functionality continually added to its online and mobile platforms.

Last year the launch of Air Arabia’s iOS app led the airline to become the first UAE carrier to provide an app on the platform, which followed the launch of its mobile website, allowing passengers to access the features of www.airarabia.com from any smartphone, anywhere in the world.

These channels complement Air Arabia’s extensive range of distribution and payment channels, which includes travel agents, call centres, sales shops, cash collection points and many others.
