How much checked baggage can I book?
You can pre-book checked baggage in one of three total weight options up to 12 hours prior to departure (4 hours for flights departing to/from Morocco):
- 20 kg, 30 kg, or 40 kg. 20 kg allowance is limited to 1 piece, while the 30 kg and 40 kg allowances can be split into a maximum of 2 pieces per passenger. If your allowance is split into two bags, each bag must not exceed 32 kg.
- Availability and fees can vary by route.
Can I buy checked baggage at the airport?
Yes, but only limited weight options may be available at the airport, and prices are typically higher. For better value, pre-book online, via the call center, or at a sales office.
What is the maximum size and weight for each checked bag?
Each checked bag must not exceed 32 kg and 158 cm (62 inches) in total dimensions (length + width + height).
Are there any restrictions on the type of baggage I can check in?
Yes. Carton boxes are not allowed as checked baggage on Bangladesh flights and flights departing from Türkiye. Also, irregular-shaped baggage that cannot be safely transported may not be accepted.
Can I check in a TV or large electronic item?
Yes. TVs 40 inches and above incur a charge of AED 150 plus a handling fee (per item). The maximum allowed TV size is 60 inches, subject to acceptance and proper packaging.
Can I carry Zamzam water on my flight from Saudi Arabia?
Yes, passengers travelling from Saudi Arabia (KSA) are allowed to carry one 5-litre bottle of Zamzam water free of charge as checked baggage, subject to the following conditions:
- Zamzam water must be purchased from authorized sales outlets at Saudi Arabian airports.
- The bottle must be packed in a sealed container specifically designed for air transportation.
- Only one 5-litre bottle per passenger is permitted free of charge
