How to use your COVID-19 Global Cover

The cover is included with every Value and Extra Fare Ticket booked with Air Arabia from 15th September to 31st December 2020 for travel within the same period.

When you book your Air Arabia flight, you will be covered for 31 days from the first day of your travel. You can book via our website, mobile application, sales shop, travel agent or third party websites selling our tickets.

If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 while you are travelling, you should contact the 24/7 Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover Team soon as you can at:

How do I get COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover? Do I need to fill out any application forms before I fly?

No, Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover is automatically included with your value or extra fare ticket on Air Arabia international flights booked between 15th September 2020 till 31st December 2020 for travel during the same period. This is effective following the first flight on Air Arabia outside of your country of residence and is valid for 31 days, or upon your return to your country of residence, if earlier.

*Country of residence: the country where you reside more than 180 days per fiscal year.

How long am I covered for?

Assistance will be provided for travel booked between 15th September 2020 and 31st December 2020 for travel during the same period. This Assistance is automatically effective following the first flight outside of your country of residence and is valid for 31 days, or upon your return to your country of residence, if earlier. You are not obligated to use this cover but it’s there for you if you need it.

If the passenger tests positive for COVID-19 any time during the 31 day period, this assistance will continue and cease upon reaching benefit limit or upon your recovery from COVID-19 or completion of quarantine period or upon return of mortal remains, whichever is applicable. 

What is covered?

If you’re diagnosed with COVID-19 whilst you’re away from your country of residence, we’ll take care of your medical expenses and quarantine costs. Please note you will not be covered for the cost of PCR tests.

Does it cover infants, children and senior citizens?

Yes it does.

Can I pay first and then claim my expenses?

No. You must obtain pre-approval by contacting the 24/7 Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover Team:

Failure to do this will void any assistance. Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover will not reimburse any direct payments made for these assistances.

Am I covered for any assistance if I am travelling within my Country of Residence?

No. 

Am I covered for the cost of a COVID-19 test?

No.

I am planning to continue my trip by car, train or flight to another country. Am I still covered?

Yes, you will be covered according to the Terms and Conditions even if you continue your journey onwards to another country using a different mode of transport.

What information or documents do I need once I have tested positive for COVID-19?

It is mandatory to contact Air Arabia Global Assistance Cover Team as soon as possible in case you test positive for COVID-19. Failure to comply with this will void any assistance.

The following documents are required when you contact us:

  • Air Arabia Flight ticket e-mail confirmation.
  • Boarding pass.
  • Passport, including residency visa page, if applicable.
  • COVID-19 positive test result that should be dated after the first day of travel and within 5 days of receiving the result.
  • Passenger email address and contact number where you can be reached.
  • You will also need to allow Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover Team to have access to your medical data in order to arrange assistance.
  • Or any other document requested by Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover Team for processing your request

I have tested positive while traveling abroad and requested to quarantine for 14 days. Am I covered?

Yes, we will provide 50 USD per insured person for each full day you have to spend in quarantine, up to a maximum of 14 days. If you need medical treatment for COVID-19, this will also be covered up to 20,000 USD.

The authorities of the country I am traveling to announced 14 days quarantine upon arrival for travellers from my departure country. Am I covered for quarantine expenses?

No.

Do I qualify for the cover if I bought my Air Arabia ticket via a travel agent or an online travel agent?

Yes, as long as you hold a Value or Extra Fare ticket and have at least flown a part of that journey on Air Arabia.

Does it matter when my ticket was booked/issued?

Yes, the ticket should have been booked between 15th September and 31st December 2020 for travel during the same period.

Am I covered if I use AirRewards points to purchase the ticket?

Yes, you are covered as long as you have a valid a Value or Extra Fare ticket booked and have at least flown a part of that journey on Air Arabia.

What if my journey is longer than 31 days? Can I pay to extend my coverage?

No. assistance ends after 31 days. No extension is provided unless you purchase a new ticket.

Does it cover residents returning to their home country?

The assistance is valid for 31 days from the first flown flight of your journey from the date of departure. It ends when you return to your country of residence.

Can I contact Air Arabia to obtain more information regarding this Cover?

No. Information or assistance relating to Air Arabia COVID-19 Global Assistance Cover is not available through the Air Arabia Customer Centre or any other Air Arabia customer service channel.
