1. How much baggage can I check-in on air arabia flights?

A. Each passenger (excluding infants) is allowed 20 kgs of checked-in baggage on our flights to Kazakhstan (Almaty, Astana and Yerevan), 25 kgs of checked-in baggage on our GCC flights (except and Jeddah) and 30 kgs on all other flights on our network.

The maximum weight permitted per individual piece of baggage is 32kgs with total dimensions of 160cms (W+D+L). No single piece of baggage may exceed this allowance. Only one box is permitted as part of free baggage allowance. The box must be the original manufacture’s box containing the original item. All items weighing 32kgs or more and with dimensions of 160cms or more can only be sent as cargo. air arabia does not offer cargo facilities for outsized baggage.

Checked baggage in excess of free allowance is subject to excess baggage charge to and from Sharjah International Airport at AED 10 (or equivalent) per kilo on GCC flights (except Jeddah), AED 15 (or equivalent) per kilo on flights to India and Colombo and AED 20 (or equivalent) per kilo on all other flights including Jeddah. On connecting flights, excess baggage charges are AED 10 (or equivalent) per kilo on our GCC flights (except Jeddah), and AED 15 (or equivalent) per kili on all other flights including Jeddah, India and Colombo. You are not permitted to combine your free hand luggage with your checked-in baggage allowance.

2. How much hand luggage (unchecked baggage) can I bring onboard air arabia flights?

A. Each passenger (excluding infants) is allowed to carry one small piece of hand luggage (unchecked baggage), which must not exceed 6 kilos on our GCC flights (except Jeddah) and 7 kilos on all other flights in our network. The total dimensions of your hand luggage should not exceed 55 x 40 x 20cm. If we feel that your hand luggage exceeds the requirement, we will advise you to check it in as checked-in baggage. In the event that your total checked-in baggage exceeds the free allowance, an excess baggage charge will be incurred.

3. With upgraded security on aircraft what items am I not permitted to carry onboard the aircraft?

A. Recently, there has been an increase in the level of security onboard all aircraft. Passengers are not allowed to bring any sharp objects onto the aircraft. This includes nail clippers, scissors, razors or any other object that may be considered dangerous.

4. Can I check-in for my onward flight at the point of departure and reclaim my checked-in baggage at the end of the entire journey?

A. Yes you can claim your checked-in baggage at the end of the journey provided the entire flights are on air arabia. However, you need to report to the transit desk at Sharjah to claim your onward boarding card.
