The History of Coimbatore
A comparitively small town until the 1900's, Coimbatore has seen impressive growth throughout the 20th Century, firstly due to a textile boom in the 1920's and 30's, and then thanks to swift industrialisation post Indian Independence - a movement that the city played a key role in.
