Air Arabia is the first low cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa region, the international airline of the Emirate of Sharjah and one of the officially approved national carriers of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The low cost model has been warmly welcomed across the region since Air Arabia introduced it in October 2003 and continues to go from strength to strength. In six years time, low cost travel have become the preferred choice of travel to wide audience in the MENA region and Air Arabia have been able to carry over 14 million passengers.

The reliable and profitable record the company has achieved since inception, allowed the management to take a solid and pioneer step in converting the company into a public joint stock company (PJSC) in March 2007. This step not only marked Air Arabia as the first airline in the Arab world to be publicly owned, furthermore, it allowed to set the proper basis needed to implement the company's expansion strategy and ambition to become a world leading low cost carrier.
In 2008, Air Arabia was declared the most profitable airline in the world, beating the financial down turn by offering its customers better choice to travel more for less. Further more, Air Arabia was ranked world’s best low cost carrier (LCC) ranking top chart on the top performing companies (TPC) list issued by Aviation week.
In April 28, 2009, Air Arabia officially launched its second hub in Casablanca, Morocco – offering the Moroccan and North African community more affordable fares to extensively fly from and into Europe.
In June 2010, Air Arabia launched operations from its third hub in Alexandria, Egypt offering flights to the Gulf and MENA region.
Air Arabia is in the process of establishing its Fourth hub in the Amman, Jordan to further grow its existing global network and broadly link the whole range of the Arab world with Europe.
